  • Show details Hide details
  • What causes this issue?

The system has determined that no entries exist in the field assignment
table EDIMAP for table &V1&. If no entries are available in the field
assignment table EDIMAP for table &V1&, the system transfers only those
dimensions that are in the fixed segment E1GLTTF (such as business
area, account, and cost center). If your table contains
customer-defined field fields, these fields are not transferred without
    the corresponding entries in EDIMAP.

    System Response

    How to fix this error?

If you are working in the central system to which the data is to be
sent, you must first maintain the entries in the field assignment table
EDIMAP using the function "Update field assignment table". Afterwards,
this information must be distributed to all local systems.
However, if you are working in the local system which is to send the
data to the central system, you should find out why the field
assignment rules for table &v1& are not defined in your system.

  • What is the cause and solution for SAP error message GU173 - There are no entries in EDIMAP for table & ?

The SAP error message GU173 indicates that there are no entries in the EDIMAP table for the specified table name. This error typically occurs in the context of Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) or when working with IDocs (Intermediate Documents) in SAP.

    Cause:

The error occurs when the system is trying to process an IDoc or EDI message, and it cannot find the necessary mapping information in the EDIMAP table for the specified table. This can happen due to several reasons:

    1. Missing Mapping Entries: The required mapping entries for the specified table have not been created in the EDIMAP table.
    2. Incorrect Table Name: The table name specified in the IDoc or EDI message may be incorrect or misspelled.
    3. Configuration Issues: There may be issues with the configuration of the EDI/IDoc settings in the SAP system.
    4. Transport Issues: If the mapping was recently transported from another system, it may not have been transported correctly.

    Solution:

To resolve the GU173 error, you can take the following steps:

    1. Check EDIMAP Entries:

      • Use transaction code SE11 (Data Dictionary) to check the EDIMAP table.
      • Look for entries related to the specified table. If there are no entries, you will need to create them.
    2. Create Mapping Entries:

      • If the necessary entries are missing, you can create them manually. This typically involves defining the mapping between the IDoc segments and the corresponding database tables.
      • Use transaction code WE30 (IDoc Type) to define or modify the IDoc type and ensure that the mapping is correctly set up.
    3. Verify Table Name:

      • Double-check the table name being referenced in the IDoc or EDI message to ensure it is correct.
    4. Review Configuration:

      • Check the EDI/IDoc configuration settings in transaction WE20 (Partner Profiles) and ensure that the settings are correct for the partner and message type you are working with.
    5. Transport Issues:

      • If the mapping was recently transported, verify that the transport request was successful and that all necessary objects were included.
