  • What causes this issue?

In master data template category &v2&, the attribute &v1& has a key
    reference. This means:
If you create a master data template with this category, the attribute
    can be given the <ls>key reference</> <DS:DE.EPD_EVALTYPE>evaluation
    category</>.
When the master data template is executed, the value is provided from a
given key attribute of a higher-level node.
The key reference defines the higher-level node and attribute from which
the value is taken at runtime.
The higher-level attribute must have the name &v4&.
The higher-level attribute must be marked as a <DS:DE.EPD_KEYATTR>key
    field</>.
The higher-level node must have the value &v3& as an external key
category (the master data template category can, but does not have to
agree with the external key category).
An attribute with these characteristics does not exist.
