SAP Error Message - Details

  • Message type: E = Error

  • Message class: DMEE - Messages for Data Medium Exchange Engine

  • Message number: 327

  • Message text: Error aggregating node &1: node &2 has incorrect data type

  • Show details Hide details
  • What causes this issue?

In the aggregation data for node &V1&, a reference to node &V2& is
stored by means of reference ID &V3&. This node is to be summed, but
node &V2& has an incorrect data type.
If you wish to aggregate by summing different nodes, note the following
    rules:
You cannot sum nodes if they have the type "Character".
You can only sum different nodes if they have the same type.
The data type of the nodes being summed must correspond to that of the
    target node.

    System Response

The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.

    How to fix this error?

  • What is the cause and solution for SAP error message DMEE327 - Error aggregating node &1: node &2 has incorrect data type ?

The SAP error message DMEE327 indicates an issue with the Data Medium Exchange (DMEE) configuration, specifically related to the aggregation of nodes in the DMEE tree structure. The error message states that there is a problem with the data type of a node that is being aggregated.

    Cause:

The error typically arises due to one of the following reasons:

    1. Incorrect Data Type: The node that is being aggregated has a data type that is incompatible with the expected data type for aggregation. For example, trying to aggregate a string node with a numeric node.
    2. Configuration Issues: There may be a misconfiguration in the DMEE tree where the nodes are not set up correctly to allow for aggregation.
    3. Hierarchy Issues: The structure of the DMEE tree may not be properly defined, leading to conflicts in data types during aggregation.

    Solution:

To resolve the DMEE327 error, you can follow these steps:

    1. Check Node Data Types:

      • Review the data types of the nodes involved in the aggregation. Ensure that all nodes being aggregated have compatible data types.
      • If necessary, change the data type of the node that is causing the issue to match the expected type.
    2. Review DMEE Configuration:

      • Go to the DMEE transaction (usually DMEE or DMEE1) and check the configuration of the nodes.
      • Ensure that the aggregation settings are correctly defined and that the nodes are set up to allow for the intended aggregation.
    3. Test Aggregation:

      • After making changes, test the aggregation again to see if the error persists. You can do this by running the DMEE output generation process.
    4. Consult Documentation:

      • Refer to SAP documentation or help resources for specific guidance on configuring DMEE nodes and understanding data types.
    5. Seek Help from SAP Support:

      • If the issue persists after checking the configuration and data types, consider reaching out to SAP support for further assistance.

    Related Information:

    • DMEE (Data Medium Exchange): A tool in SAP used for generating payment files and other data formats for external communication.
    • Node Types: In DMEE, nodes can have different types such as text, numeric, date, etc. Understanding these types is crucial for proper configuration.
    • Aggregation: This refers to the process of combining data from multiple nodes into a single output, which requires compatible data types.

By following these steps, you should be able to identify and resolve the cause of the DMEE327 error in your SAP system.
