Message text: Inconsistent numbering of fields on &
To define the <DS:TX.DDDOK_SHLP_PARAMETER>parameters</> of an
elementary search help that should appear in the dialog box of an input
help process and the order in which they should be displayed, you can
assign position numbers in the search help maintenance screen for these
parameters. Position number 0 means that the parameter should not
appear in the corresponding dialog box. A positive position number, on
the other hand, means that the parameter should appear in the dialog
box. The order of the parameters in the dialog box is defined by the
size of the position numbers assigned, whereby you may not assign the
same positive position number in one of the two categories to two
parameters. This condition was violated in the search help.
INCLUDE DDDOC_CANCEL
Assign the parameters which should appear in the corresponding dialog
box different positive position numbers. Assign position 0 for those
parameters which should not appear in the dialog box.

- Inconsistent numbering of fields on & ?The SAP error message DH153, which states "Inconsistent numbering of fields on &," typically occurs in the context of data dictionary objects, such as tables or structures, where there is a mismatch in the field numbering or definitions. This can happen during the activation of a data dictionary object or when trying to use a structure that has been modified.
Cause:
- Field Numbering Mismatch: The error usually arises when there is an inconsistency in the field numbering of a structure or table. This can occur if fields have been added, deleted, or modified without proper adjustments to the field numbers.
- Transport Issues: If the object was transported from one system to another, there might be inconsistencies due to differences in the data dictionary between the source and target systems.
- Manual Changes: Manual changes to the data dictionary objects that do not follow the proper procedures can lead to inconsistencies.
Solution:
- Check Field Definitions: Review the field definitions in the data dictionary (SE11) for the affected table or structure. Ensure that all fields are correctly defined and that there are no missing or incorrectly numbered fields.
- Re-activate the Object: Sometimes, simply reactivating the object can resolve the issue. Go to the data dictionary object in SE11 and try to activate it again.
- Transport Consistency: If the issue is related to transport, ensure that all related objects have been transported correctly and that there are no missing dependencies.
- Check for Modifications: If there have been modifications to the data dictionary objects, check for any inconsistencies that may have been introduced. You may need to revert to a previous version or correct the modifications.
