SAP Error Message - Details

  • Message class: DGA - DG: Messages for Dangerous Goods Management (A)

  • Message number: 433

  • Message text: Selection criteria for delta filling were reset

  • Show details Hide details
  • What causes this issue?

When filling the dangerous goods master, you have specified selection
criteria and you have also set the <ZK>Evaluate Change Pointer</>
    indicator.

    System Response

The system ignores the selection criteria you specified for dangerous
goods classifications, real substances, and materials during delta
    filling.

    How to fix this error?

If you still want to use your selection criteria for delta filling,
start the report program <ZK>DGPDATCO</> directly from the transaction
<ZK>SE38</> and enter your selection criteria. You should only do this
in exceptional cases because the system evaluates the change pointers
for the changed specification data only once. The change pointers are
then no longer available for subsequent delta filling.
    <ZH>Note:</>
If you want to fill a large number of dangerous goods master records as
a result of many changes, you can use the environment parameter
<ZK>DG_FILLING_PACK</> to do this in packages.

  • What is the cause and solution for SAP error message DGA433 - Selection criteria for delta filling were reset ?

The SAP error message DGA433, which states "Selection criteria for delta filling were reset," typically occurs in the context of data extraction processes, particularly when working with SAP Data Warehousing or SAP BW (Business Warehouse). This message indicates that the selection criteria for delta extraction have been reset, which can affect the data loading process.

    Cause:

    1. Delta Initialization: The error often arises during the delta initialization process when the system attempts to set up the delta mechanism for data extraction. If the selection criteria are not properly defined or if there are changes in the data source, the system may reset the criteria.

    2. Changes in Data Source: If there have been changes to the underlying data source (like changes in the structure of the source table or the data model), the delta extraction may not be able to proceed with the existing selection criteria.

    3. Configuration Issues: Incorrect configuration in the data source or in the InfoPackage settings can lead to this error. This includes issues with the delta queue or the extraction settings.

    4. Data Consistency Issues: If there are inconsistencies in the data or if the delta queue is not properly maintained, it can lead to this error.

    Solution:

    1. Check Delta Initialization: Ensure that the delta initialization process has been completed successfully. If it has not, you may need to reinitialize the delta.

    2. Review Selection Criteria: Go to the InfoPackage settings and review the selection criteria. Make sure that they are correctly defined and that they match the structure of the data source.

    3. Reconfigure Data Source: If there have been changes to the data source, you may need to reconfigure the data source in SAP BW. This includes checking the extraction settings and ensuring that they are aligned with the current data model.

    4. Monitor Delta Queue: Check the delta queue for any inconsistencies or errors. You can use transaction codes like RSA7 to monitor the delta queue and ensure that it is functioning correctly.

    5. Check for Notes and Patches: Sometimes, SAP releases notes or patches that address specific issues related to data extraction. Check the SAP Support Portal for any relevant notes that may apply to your situation.

    6. Consult Documentation: Review the SAP documentation related to delta extraction and InfoPackages for any additional troubleshooting steps or best practices.

    Related Information:

    • Transaction Codes: Familiarize yourself with relevant transaction codes such as RSA1 (Data Warehousing Workbench), RSA7 (Delta Queue Monitor), and RSO2 (Manage DataSources).
    • SAP Notes: Search for SAP Notes related to DGA433 or delta extraction issues in the SAP Support Portal.
    • Community Forums: Engage with SAP community forums or user groups where similar issues may have been discussed, and solutions shared.
