  • Show details Hide details
  • What causes this issue?

The BOM of a material with the configuration profile setting 'Sales
order' contains a configurable material with the configuration profile
setting 'Planned/production order: multi-level'. This type of modeling
is not currently supported, because statements referring to object
variable $ROOT are ambiguous in this context:
If object dependencies are allocated to a BOM item, and the source code
refers to characteristics of object $ROOT, this object variable is
interpreted in production as the superior item that transfer
requirements - the material of the BOM item, in this case. In the sales
order, object variable $ROOT always refers to the header material.
Since the statement is ambiguous in this case, the dependency cannot be
    processed.

    System Response

The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.

    How to fix this error?

Change the BOM explosion settings of the material component in the BOM
or use a material with a different setting.
