CX081
- You cannot unfix the BOM ?The SAP error message CX081, "You cannot unfix the BOM," typically occurs when there is an attempt to unfix a Bill of Materials (BOM) that is currently in a fixed state. This can happen in various scenarios, such as when a BOM is locked for changes due to production orders, or when it is marked as fixed in the system.
Causes:
- Fixed BOM: The BOM is marked as fixed, which means it cannot be modified or un-fixed until certain conditions are met.
- Active Production Orders: There may be active production orders that reference the BOM, preventing changes.
- Dependencies: Other objects or dependencies in the system may be preventing the unfixing of the BOM.
- Authorization Issues: The user may not have the necessary authorizations to perform the unfixing operation.
Solutions:
- Check BOM Status: Verify the status of the BOM in the system. If it is fixed, you may need to determine why it is fixed and whether it can be un-fixed.
- Review Production Orders: Check for any active production orders that are using the BOM. If there are active orders, you may need to complete or delete them before unfixing the BOM.
- Change BOM Fixing: If the BOM is fixed due to a specific reason, you may need to follow the appropriate process to unfix it. This could involve changing the status of the BOM or removing the fixing status through the appropriate transaction (e.g., using transaction CS02 to change the BOM).
- Authorization Check: Ensure that you have the necessary authorizations to modify the BOM. If not, contact your SAP administrator to obtain the required permissions.
- Consult Documentation: Refer to SAP documentation or help resources for specific instructions related to your version of SAP, as the process may vary.
