  • Message class: CO - PPC order processing messages

  • Message text: No parameters defined in plant & for generating operations

  • Show details Hide details
  • What causes this issue?

You want to create a production order without referring to a routing or
reference operation set. In this case, the system automatically
creates an operation for the production order. However, there are no
parameters defined in Customizing for the automatic creation of an
    operation.

    How to fix this error?

    There are two options:
If you maintain parameters in Customizing for the automatic generation
of operations, the system copies these parameters into the operation.
If you do not maintain any such parameters, the system automatically
creates an operation with operation number <ZH>10</> and the control
    key <ZH>D</>.

The SAP error message CO124 ("No parameters defined in plant & for generating operations") typically occurs in the context of production planning and control, particularly when trying to generate operations for a production order or a routing. This error indicates that the system cannot find the necessary parameters defined for the specified plant, which are required to generate operations.

    Causes:

    1. Missing Parameters: The most common cause is that the necessary parameters for the plant in question have not been defined in the system. This could include missing configuration for work centers, routing, or production resources.

    2. Incorrect Plant Assignment: The plant assigned to the production order or routing may not be correctly set up or may not exist in the system.

    3. Routing Issues: If the routing associated with the production order does not have any operations defined, or if the operations are not linked to the correct work centers, this error can occur.

    4. Master Data Issues: There may be issues with the master data related to the materials, work centers, or production resources.

    Solutions:

    1. Check Plant Parameters: Go to the configuration settings in SAP and ensure that all necessary parameters for the plant are defined. This includes checking the work centers and ensuring they are properly set up.

    2. Review Routing: Verify that the routing associated with the production order has operations defined and that these operations are linked to valid work centers.

    3. Check Master Data: Ensure that all relevant master data (materials, work centers, routings) is correctly maintained and that there are no inconsistencies.

    4. Transaction Codes: Use transaction codes like CR01 (Create Routing), CR02 (Change Routing), and CR03 (Display Routing) to check the routing details. Use C202 to check the work center details.

    5. Plant-Specific Settings: Ensure that any plant-specific settings are correctly configured in the system. This may involve checking the configuration in the SAP IMG (Implementation Guide).

    6. Consult Documentation: Refer to SAP documentation or help files for specific details on the configuration of production planning and control.

    Related Information:

    • Transaction Codes: Familiarize yourself with relevant transaction codes such as CO01 (Create Production Order), CO02 (Change Production Order), and CO03 (Display Production Order) to manage production orders effectively.
