  • What is the cause and solution for SAP error message CK347 - Cost comp. split not transferred due to different cost comp. structure ?

The SAP error message CK347, which states "Cost component split not transferred due to different cost component structure," typically occurs during the process of transferring cost component splits from one system or document to another. This error indicates that there is a mismatch in the cost component structures between the source and target documents or systems.

    Cause:

    1. Different Cost Component Structures: The most common cause of this error is that the cost component structure defined in the material master or in the controlling area does not match between the source and target documents. This can happen if:

      • The cost component structure has been changed in one of the systems.
      • Different versions of cost component structures are being used.
      • The cost component structure is not defined for the relevant controlling area or company code.
    2. Missing Cost Components: If certain cost components are defined in one structure but not in the other, this can also lead to this error.

    3. Configuration Issues: There may be configuration issues in the controlling area or in the material master that lead to inconsistencies.

    Solution:

    1. Check Cost Component Structures:

      • Go to the transaction code OKTZ (Cost Component Structure) and compare the cost component structures in both the source and target systems. Ensure that they are aligned and that all necessary cost components are defined in both structures.
    2. Adjust Cost Component Structure:

      • If discrepancies are found, you may need to adjust the cost component structure in one of the systems to ensure they match. This may involve adding or removing cost components or modifying the structure.
    3. Reconfigure Material Master:

      • If the error is related to a specific material, check the material master data (transaction code MM03) to ensure that the correct cost component structure is assigned.
    4. Check Controlling Area Settings:

      • Ensure that the controlling area settings are consistent and that the cost component structure is correctly assigned to the relevant controlling area.
    5. Consult Documentation:

      • Review SAP documentation or consult with your SAP support team for specific guidance on how to resolve configuration issues related to cost component structures.
    6. Testing:

      • After making changes, perform tests to ensure that the error no longer occurs and that cost component splits are being transferred correctly.
