Message text: Changes to equipment BOM will not be considered in warehouse stock
The Configuration Control equipment BOM usage is used to represent the
actual configuration within the Configuration Control Workbench. It is
important to keep track of all non-serialized stock-managed materials
that make up the actual configuration. Any changes made to the
Configuration Control equipment BOM usage with transactions IB01 and
IB02 are not reflected in the stock update.
Authorized users are allowed to perform the changes in the equipment BOM
maintenance transactions.
Only use transactions IB01 and IB02 for the initial setup of the
equipment BOM, or for correcting errors that occurred during the initial
setup of the equipment BOM.
Use transaction IE4N to update the stock information accordingly. If you
do not want the stock information to be updated, continue with
processing.
The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.

- Changes to equipment BOM will not be considered in warehouse stock ?The SAP error message CCMM505 indicates that changes made to the Bill of Materials (BOM) for a piece of equipment will not be considered for the warehouse stock. This typically occurs in scenarios where the system is unable to reconcile the changes made to the BOM with the existing stock in the warehouse.
Cause:
- BOM Changes: The error usually arises when there are modifications to the BOM of an equipment that is already in stock. This can include changes to components, quantities, or other attributes.
- Stock Status: The stock of the equipment may be in a status that does not allow for BOM changes to be applied (e.g., stock is already reserved or in use).
- Configuration Issues: There may be configuration settings in the system that prevent the application of BOM changes to existing stock.
- Material Master Data: Inconsistencies or issues in the material master data related to the equipment or its components can also lead to this error.
Solution:
- Review BOM Changes: Check the changes made to the BOM and ensure they are necessary. If the changes are not critical, consider reverting them.
- Stock Management: If the stock is in a status that prevents changes, you may need to adjust the stock status (e.g., move it to unrestricted stock) or wait until the stock is no longer reserved.
- Recreate Stock: If the BOM changes are essential, consider creating new stock based on the updated BOM rather than modifying existing stock.
- Check Configuration: Review the configuration settings in the SAP system related to BOM and stock management to ensure they are set up correctly.
- Consult Documentation: Refer to SAP documentation or help resources for specific guidance on handling BOM changes and stock management.
