C3008
- Reference object &2 assigned to costing type &1 does not exist ?The SAP error message C3008 indicates that there is an issue with a reference object assigned to a costing type in the system. Specifically, it means that the reference object (such as a material, cost center, or internal order) that is expected to be associated with the specified costing type does not exist in the system.
Cause:
- Missing Reference Object: The reference object (e.g., material, cost center, internal order) that is supposed to be linked to the costing type is not created or has been deleted.
- Incorrect Configuration: The costing type may be incorrectly configured or not properly assigned to the reference object.
- Data Inconsistency: There may be inconsistencies in the master data or configuration settings that lead to the reference object not being recognized.
- Transport Issues: If the system has recently undergone a transport of configuration or master data, the reference object may not have been included in the transport.
Solution:
- Check Existence of Reference Object: Verify that the reference object (e.g., material, cost center) exists in the system. You can do this by using transaction codes like MM03 for materials or KS03 for cost centers.
- Create or Restore Reference Object: If the reference object does not exist, create it or restore it if it was deleted. Ensure that it is properly configured.
- Review Costing Type Configuration: Check the configuration of the costing type in the relevant customizing settings (transaction code OKTZ for costing types). Ensure that it is correctly set up and linked to the appropriate reference objects.
- Check for Data Consistency: Use transaction codes like CKR1 (for cost estimates) to check for any inconsistencies in the data. You may need to run consistency checks or reprocess certain transactions.
- Transport Management: If the issue arose after a transport, ensure that all necessary objects were included in the transport request. You may need to re-transport the missing objects.
