C1013
- Interval values already assigned to characteristic ?The SAP error message C1013, "Interval values already assigned to characteristic," typically occurs in the context of SAP BW (Business Warehouse) or SAP BI (Business Intelligence) when you are trying to assign interval values to a characteristic that already has those intervals assigned. This can happen during the creation or modification of InfoObjects, especially when dealing with characteristics that are defined with intervals.
Cause:
- Duplicate Assignment: The characteristic you are trying to modify already has interval values assigned to it. SAP does not allow the same interval values to be assigned multiple times to a characteristic.
- Data Model Issues: There may be inconsistencies in the data model or the way the characteristic is defined.
- Transport Issues: If you are transporting objects between systems, there may be conflicts or duplicates in the target system.
Solution:
Check Existing Assignments:
- Go to the InfoObject maintenance transaction (e.g.,
RSD1
for InfoObjects) and check the existing interval values assigned to the characteristic.- If you find that the intervals are already assigned, you may need to remove or modify them before adding new ones.
Remove Duplicate Intervals:
- If you need to change the intervals, first remove the existing intervals that are causing the conflict.
- After removing them, you can then add the new interval values.
Review Data Model:
- Ensure that the data model is correctly defined and that there are no inconsistencies. This may involve checking related InfoObjects, InfoCubes, or DataStore Objects (DSOs).
Transport Management:
- If the issue arises during a transport, check the transport logs for any errors or conflicts. Ensure that the target system is in sync with the source system regarding the InfoObjects.
Consult Documentation:
- Refer to SAP documentation or notes related to InfoObject management and interval values for additional guidance.
