Message class: BV - Customer Measurement
Message number: 183
Message text: &1 users inherit their user classification from reference user
In the system, &V1& users have been found with the following
attributes:
The users are not classified
The users take their authorizations only from assignment to a reference
user (no profiles, no roles)
The reference user is classified
During the system measurement, these users inherit the classfication of
the reference user to which they are assigned.
The system follows the rules below (in order) during system
measurement:
With manually classified users, their classification is used
With users that take their authorizations exclusively from a reference
user (no roles, no profiles) and for whom the assigned reference user
is classified, the classification of the reference user is inherited
All other users are assigned a default value or possibly with a
predefined user type in accordance with the active price list,
depending on the production status of the relevant client.
You can determine the non-classified users in the system measurement
transaction (transaction USMM, choose "User Classification"), and then
classify these users.
When you create users using the user maintenance transaction (SU01),
you can enter the data relevant to measurement immediately (choose
the "License Data" button or tab page).
You can classify reference users in the system measurement transaction
(USMM), by choosing "Goto" -> "Reference User Classification".

- &1 users inherit their user classification from reference user ?The SAP error message BV183 indicates that a user is inheriting their user classification from a reference user. This typically occurs in the context of user management and authorization in SAP systems, particularly when dealing with user classifications and roles.
Cause:

- Configuration Issues: There may be misconfigurations in the user classification settings or the reference user may not be properly defined.
- Authorization Problems: The user may not have the necessary authorizations to access or modify the reference user’s classification.
Solution:
- Check Reference User Settings: Verify the settings of the reference user to ensure that they are correctly configured and that the user classification is valid.
- Review User Classifications: Ensure that the user classifications assigned to both the reference user and the inheriting user are correctly defined in the system.
- Authorization Check: Make sure that the user has the necessary authorizations to inherit classifications from the reference user. This may involve checking roles and permissions.
- Manual Assignment: If the inheritance is causing issues, consider manually assigning the user classification to the affected user instead of relying on inheritance.
