A previous activation process for the current BI Content bundle has not

    System Response

If you receive this message as an error, the current activation process
    has been terminated.
If this message is a warning, the system waits up to six hours until the

The SAP error message BSANLY_CONT_ACT_MSG015 indicates that a previous activation process is still running, which prevents the current activation from proceeding. This error typically occurs in the context of data activation processes, such as those related to SAP BW (Business Warehouse) or SAP HANA.

    Cause:

    1. Concurrent Activation Processes: The most common cause is that another activation process is currently in progress. This can happen if multiple users or processes are trying to activate data simultaneously.
    2. Long-Running Processes: Sometimes, an activation process may take longer than expected due to large data volumes or system performance issues, leading to this error.
    3. Stuck Processes: Occasionally, a previous activation process may get stuck due to system errors or resource contention, causing the system to believe that it is still running.

    Solution:

    1. Check Running Processes: Use transaction codes like SM66 (Global Work Process Overview) or SM50 (Work Process Overview) to check for any active processes related to data activation. Identify if there is a stuck or long-running activation process.
    2. Wait for Completion: If you find that another activation process is running, you may need to wait for it to complete before starting a new one.
    3. Terminate Stuck Processes: If you identify a stuck process that is not completing, you may need to terminate it. This can be done from the SM50 or SM66 transaction by selecting the process and choosing the option to terminate it.
    4. Check Logs: Review the logs for any errors or warnings that might indicate why the previous activation process is still running. This can provide insights into underlying issues.
    5. System Performance: If activation processes are frequently taking too long, consider reviewing system performance, including memory, CPU usage, and database performance. Optimizing these can help reduce activation times.
