Message text: Version &2 of segment &3 released for release &1
Only one segment version can be released for every release. For the
current release &V1&, version &V2& of the segment &V3& has already been
released. This change therefore cannot be made.
The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.
Cancel the release of the version. Make the required change in the
segment &V3&. Then rerelease the segment version.
Note that if the released segment version has been delivered to
customers, do not cancel the release.

B1489
- Version &2 of segment &3 released for release &1 ?The SAP error message B1489 typically indicates that there is a version mismatch for a specific segment in a business process or data structure. This error often arises in the context of IDoc processing, where the system is trying to process an IDoc with a segment that has been released for a different version than what is currently being used.
Cause:
- Version Mismatch: The segment version being used in the IDoc does not match the version that is currently active in the SAP system.
- Configuration Issues: There may be configuration issues in the IDoc types or segments that lead to the system not recognizing the correct version.
- Transport Issues: If changes were transported from one system to another (e.g., from development to production), the versions may not be aligned.
Solution:
- Check Segment Versions: Verify the version of the segment in the IDoc and compare it with the version that is currently active in the SAP system. You can do this by using transaction WE30 (IDoc Types) and WE31 (Segments).
- Update IDoc Configuration: If the segment version is outdated, you may need to update the IDoc configuration to use the correct version.
- Transport Consistency: Ensure that all relevant transports have been applied correctly and that the versions are consistent across the systems (development, quality, production).
- Reprocess IDoc: If the IDoc is stuck due to this error, you may need to reprocess it after correcting the version mismatch.
- Consult Documentation: Check SAP notes or documentation related to the specific IDoc type and segment for any known issues or updates.
