SAP Error Message - Details

  • Message type: E = Error

  • Message class: AJ - Billing program

  • Message number: 248

  • Message text: Dev. &1 reg. &2 per. &3-&4: no VCF (stnd vol. meter shows zero consumpt.)

  • Show details Hide details
  • What causes this issue?

The register requires a gas procedure whose volume correction factor
component is calculated using a special procedure that uses the
register relationship <LS>calculation of volume correction factor</>.
The specified register indicates zero consumption for the specified
interval, while the corresponding standard volume meter does not
indicate zero consumption. In this case, no logical volume correction
    value can be calculated.

    System Response

The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.

    How to fix this error?

    Proceed as follows:
Check the meter reading results for the interval in question.
Enter any missing meter reading results or validate results that exist,
    but are not billable.
Billable meter reading results should usually at least be available for
    the above data.
Enter the resulting register differences of the corresponding standard
volume meter and the operating volume meter in the following formula:
RNum = Standard volume / Operating volume
Therefore, a sensible RNum will only result if both volumes are not
equal to zero or if both are equal to zero. Please also check the meter
reading results of the corresponding standard volum meter.
Check the meter reading results of the corresponding standard volume
meter <ZH>and</> the operating volume meter.
If the meter reading results are correct, an internal error could also
be involved. In this case, please contact SAP.

  • What is the cause and solution for SAP error message AJ248 - Dev. &1 reg. &2 per. &3-&4: no VCF (stnd vol. meter shows zero consumpt.) ?

The SAP error message AJ248 indicates that there is an issue related to the volume consumption for a specific development, registration, and period. The message states that there is "no VCF (standard volume meter shows zero consumption)," which typically means that the system is unable to find any volume consumption data for the specified parameters.

    Cause:

    1. Zero Consumption Data: The standard volume meter associated with the specified development and registration has recorded zero consumption for the given period. This could be due to:

      • No actual consumption occurred during that period.
      • Data not being updated or recorded correctly in the system.
      • Issues with the configuration of the volume meter or the related master data.
    2. Incorrect Configuration: There may be a configuration issue with the volume meter or the related master data that prevents the system from calculating or retrieving the expected consumption data.

    3. Data Entry Errors: There could be errors in data entry or missing data that leads to the absence of consumption records.

    Solution:

    1. Check Consumption Data: Verify the consumption data for the specified development and registration. Ensure that there are records for the period in question. If there are no records, investigate why consumption was not recorded.

    2. Review Configuration: Check the configuration of the volume meter and ensure that it is set up correctly. This includes verifying that the meter is linked to the correct development and registration.

    3. Update Data: If consumption data is missing, you may need to enter the missing data manually or ensure that the data entry processes are functioning correctly.

    4. Consult Documentation: Review SAP documentation or consult with your SAP support team for specific guidance on handling this error message, as there may be additional steps or considerations based on your organization's configuration.

    5. Run Reports: Use relevant SAP reports to analyze consumption data and identify any discrepancies or issues that need to be addressed.
