Message text: Gas law deviation factor 01 only possible for temp./pressure billing
The gas law deviation factor can only be determined using pressure and
temperature if the temperature is calculated in the volume correction
factor procedure.
In most cases this applies only to thermal gas billing 00.
The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.
However, there are a few exceptions:
You use thermal gas billing 01 and wish to provide the calculated
temperature values for calculation of the gas law deviation factor.
Select the separate temperature function
You use thermal gas billing 02 and wish to provide the temperature and
pressure (measured pressure, air pressure) for calculation of the gas
law deviation factor.

This error indicates that there is an issue with the configuration or data related to the gas law deviation factor, which is used to adjust gas volume measurements based on temperature and pressure conditions.
Cause:
- Incorrect Billing Type: The error often arises when the billing type or the billing process does not support the use of the gas law deviation factor. This factor is only applicable when billing is based on temperature and pressure measurements.
- Configuration Issues: There may be a misconfiguration in the settings related to gas billing, particularly in the master data or billing schema.
- Missing Data: Required data for temperature and pressure measurements may be missing or incorrectly entered in the system.
- Incompatible Measurement Type: The measurement type being used may not be compatible with the gas law deviation factor.
Solution:
- Check Billing Type: Ensure that the billing type being used is appropriate for temperature and pressure billing. If necessary, switch to a billing type that supports the gas law deviation factor.
- Review Configuration: Verify the configuration settings in the SAP system related to gas billing. This includes checking the billing schema and ensuring that the gas law deviation factor is correctly set up.
- Validate Measurement Data: Ensure that all required measurement data, including temperature and pressure readings, are correctly entered and available in the system.
- Adjust Master Data: Check the master data for the relevant gas contracts and ensure that the settings allow for temperature and pressure billing.
- Consult Documentation: Refer to SAP documentation or help resources for specific guidance on configuring gas billing and handling gas law deviation factors.
