Message text: Entry already exists in TACOB
Certain time limits apply to the activation of ABAP/4 Dictionary objects
in SAP in-house systems. You can flag objects for batch activation by
entering them in table TACOB using transaction SM31. You need to enter
the type and name of the objects concerned.
In this instance the object has already been entered for batch
activation.
The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.
Check the entry in table TACOB and the associated log. If an error
message is entered in table TACOB for an error in the object that has
already been eliminated, remove the error message from table TACOB in
order that the object is processed in the next batch activation.
Otherwise you need to start by eliminating the error.

AD394
- Entry already exists in TACOB ?The SAP error message AD394, which states "Entry already exists in TACOB," typically occurs when there is an attempt to create or modify an entry in the TACOB table (Transaction Codes for Authorization Objects) that already exists. This can happen during the configuration of authorization objects or when trying to assign transaction codes to roles.
Cause:
- Duplicate Entry: The most common cause is that the transaction code you are trying to add is already present in the TACOB table.
- Role Assignment: If you are trying to assign a transaction code to a role that already has that transaction code assigned, this error may occur.
- Transport Requests: If you are working with transport requests, there may be conflicts with existing entries in the target system.
Solution:
Check Existing Entries:
- Use transaction code SE11 to view the TACOB table and check if the entry you are trying to create already exists.
- You can also use transaction SUIM to check the roles and their assigned transaction codes.
Modify Existing Entry:
- If the entry already exists and you need to make changes, consider modifying the existing entry instead of creating a new one.
Remove Duplicate:
- If you find that there are duplicates, you may need to remove the unnecessary entries or adjust your role assignments accordingly.
Transport Management:
- If this error occurs during a transport, ensure that the transport request does not contain conflicting entries. You may need to adjust the transport or resolve conflicts in the target system.
Consult Documentation:
- Review SAP documentation or notes related to authorization management and the TACOB table for any specific guidelines or updates.
