  • Show details Hide details
  • What causes this issue?

In the system, for the personnel number &V2&, at least one other ZK01
query exists with no response that has the same combination of company
    number and bonus number.
Notifications are rejected by the ZfA if a notification already exists
with the same notification key (company number, bonus number, creation
time). As all notifications created in a program run receive the same
creation time, only one notification can be created in a program run for
each combination of company number and bonus number.

    System Response

If ZK01 notifications exist in a program run of the report program that
would lead to KZ01 responses with the same notification key, then only
one of these ZK01 queries is answered. Responding to the other ZK01
queries are put on hold for subsequent program runs.

    How to fix this error?

The queries that are not answered in the first productive program run
are answered in subsequent program runs.

    Procedure for System Administrators

The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.

  • What is the cause and solution for SAP error message 5Q484 - Still waiting for response to other notification with same key ?

The SAP error message 5Q484 ("Still waiting for response to other notification with same key") typically occurs in the context of SAP's notification processing, particularly when dealing with notifications that are linked to the same key or identifier. This error indicates that the system is still waiting for a response to a previous notification that shares the same key, which can lead to a deadlock or a situation where the system cannot proceed with the current request.

    Causes:

    1. Concurrent Notifications: Multiple notifications are being processed simultaneously that share the same key, causing the system to wait for a response from the first notification before proceeding with the next.
    2. Long Processing Time: The first notification may be taking longer than expected to process, leading to a timeout or delay in the system.
    3. System Locking: The system may have a locking mechanism in place that prevents the processing of multiple notifications with the same key until the first one is completed.
    4. Configuration Issues: There may be configuration settings in the SAP system that are causing this behavior, such as incorrect handling of notifications.

    Solutions:

    1. Check for Active Notifications: Review the notifications that are currently being processed in the system. If there is an active notification with the same key, wait for it to complete before attempting to process the new one.
    2. Increase Timeout Settings: If the processing time for notifications is expected to be long, consider increasing the timeout settings in the system to allow for longer processing times.
    3. Review System Locks: Check for any locks that may be preventing the processing of notifications. You can use transaction codes like SM12 (to check for locks) and SM21 (to check system logs) to identify any issues.
    4. Error Handling: Implement error handling in your notification processing logic to manage situations where a notification is still being processed.
    5. Consult SAP Notes: Look for relevant SAP Notes that may address this specific error message. SAP frequently updates its knowledge base with solutions for known issues.
    6. System Performance: Ensure that the system is performing optimally. If the system is under heavy load, it may be beneficial to optimize performance or schedule processing during off-peak hours.

    Related Information:

    • Transaction Codes: Familiarize yourself with relevant transaction codes such as SM37 (to monitor job processing), SM12 (to check for locks), and SLG1 (to view application logs).
