The SAP error message 5N652, which states "Civilian Service Number unknown, therefore Anonymity Tax is applied," typically occurs in the context of payroll processing in SAP systems, particularly in countries where anonymity tax regulations apply. This error indicates that the system cannot find a valid Civilian Service Number (or equivalent identification number) for the employee, which is necessary for proper tax calculations.

    Cause:

    1. Missing Civilian Service Number: The employee's record does not have a Civilian Service Number entered in the system.
    2. Incorrect Data Entry: The Civilian Service Number may have been entered incorrectly or may not match the format expected by the system.
    3. Employee Master Data Issues: The employee's master data may not be fully maintained or may have been incorrectly set up.

    Solution:

    1. Check Employee Master Data:

      • Navigate to the employee's master data in the SAP system (usually through transaction codes like PA30).
      • Verify that the Civilian Service Number is correctly entered in the relevant infotype (e.g., Infotype 0002 - Personal Data).

      • If the Civilian Service Number is missing or incorrect, update it with the correct information.
      • Ensure that the format of the Civilian Service Number adheres to the required standards.
    3. Consult with HR/Payroll Team:

      • If you are unsure about the correct Civilian Service Number or how to obtain it, consult with your HR or payroll department for assistance.
    4. Review Tax Configuration:

      • Ensure that the tax configuration in the SAP system is set up correctly to handle Civilian Service Numbers and that it complies with local tax regulations.
    5. Testing:

      • After making the necessary updates, run a test payroll to ensure that the error no longer occurs and that the correct tax calculations are applied.
