This error indicates that the Social Insurance Number (SIN) provided in the ROE is invalid or not properly formatted, specifically showing as "000-000-000," which is a placeholder and not a valid SIN.

    Cause:

    1. Invalid SIN: The most common cause of this error is that the SIN entered in the ROE is either missing, incorrectly formatted, or is a placeholder (like "000-000-000").
    2. Data Entry Error: There may have been a mistake during data entry, leading to an incorrect SIN being recorded.
    3. Employee Record Issues: The employee's record in the SAP system may not have the correct SIN information.

    Solution:

    1. Verify Employee Information: Check the employee's record in the SAP system to ensure that the correct SIN is entered. The SIN should be a valid 9-digit number formatted as "XXX-XXX-XXX."
    2. Correct the SIN: If the SIN is incorrect or missing, update the employee's record with the correct SIN.
    3. Reprocess the ROE: After correcting the SIN, reprocess the ROE to ensure it is submitted correctly to Employment and Social Development Canada (ESDC).
    4. Test Submission: If possible, perform a test submission to ensure that the error does not reoccur.

    Related Information:

    • ROE Submission: The ROE is a critical document in Canada that employers must provide to employees when they stop working. It is used to determine eligibility for Employment Insurance (EI) benefits.
    • ESDC Guidelines: Familiarize yourself with the guidelines provided by ESDC regarding the submission of ROEs, including the requirements for valid SINs.
    • SAP Support: If the issue persists after correcting the SIN, consider reaching out to your SAP support team or consulting SAP documentation for further troubleshooting steps.
