The SAP error message "37780: Selection does not contain an element" typically occurs when a selection criterion in a report or transaction does not match any existing data in the database. This can happen in various contexts, such as when running reports, executing transactions, or using selection screens.

    Causes:

    1. Incorrect Selection Criteria: The user may have entered selection criteria that do not correspond to any existing records in the database. For example, if you are filtering by a specific date range, and there are no records for that range, this error may occur.

    4. Technical Issues: There could be underlying technical issues, such as database inconsistencies or problems with the report/query itself.

    Solutions:

    1. Check Selection Criteria: Review the selection criteria you have entered. Ensure that they are correct and that they correspond to existing data. For example, if you are filtering by a specific date, make sure that there are records for that date.

    2. Verify Data Availability: Check if the data you are trying to access is available in the system. You can do this by running a broader query or checking the relevant tables directly.

    3. Review Authorizations: Ensure that you have the necessary authorizations to access the data. If you suspect authorization issues, contact your SAP security team to verify your access rights.
