Message text: Simple password is only permitted in PI sheets of type 1
You have set the <LS>Simple password</> indicator for a control recipe
destination that is NOT of type 1. You may only use this indicator for
control recipe destinations of type 1 (ABAP list-based PI sheet).
The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.
If you want to use a password check in the browser-based PI sheet (type
4), you must use the <DS:GLOS.3526BF2EAFAB52B9E10000009B38F974> digital
signature</>.
As an alternative to the <LS>simple password check</>, you can use the
<LS>simple signature</> with the
<DS:GLOS.C911D84002D7D311AB320060B03C3B0B>signature method</> "System
signature with authorization by user ID and password" in the
browser-based PI sheet. To do so, proceed as follows:
Set the <LS>Digital signature</> indicator.
As a result, the signature method specified in the simple signature is
valid for all control recipe destinations to which you have not
assigned a signature strategy.
Go to Customizing for <LS>Process Management</> and choose <LS>Control
Recipes/PI Sheets -> Digital Signature -> <DS:SIMG.COCB555>Specify
Signature Method for Approval Using Simple Signature</></>.
Assign the signature method "System signature with authorization by
user ID and password" to the following signature objects according to
your needs:
PI sheet: process step
PI sheet: accept invalid input values

- Simple password is only permitted in PI sheets of type 1 ?The SAP error message 10043, which states "Simple password is only permitted in PI sheets of type 1," typically occurs in the context of Process Integration (PI) sheets in SAP. This error indicates that a simple password is being used in a PI sheet that is not of the correct type (type 1).
Cause:
- Incorrect PI Sheet Type: The error arises when a simple password is used in a PI sheet that is not classified as type 1. In SAP, PI sheets can have different types, and only type 1 allows the use of simple passwords.
- Configuration Issues: There may be a misconfiguration in the PI sheet settings or the way the password is being set up.
Solution:
- Check PI Sheet Type: Verify the type of the PI sheet you are working with. If it is not type 1, you will need to either change the PI sheet to type 1 or use a more secure password method that is compatible with the current type.
- Change Password Method: If you cannot change the PI sheet type, consider using a more secure password method (e.g., a complex password) that is allowed for the current PI sheet type.
- Review Configuration: Check the configuration settings for the PI sheets in your SAP system to ensure they are set up correctly. This may involve consulting with your SAP Basis or security team.
- Documentation and Help: Refer to SAP documentation or help resources for more detailed information on PI sheet types and password requirements.
