In the Modification Browser (Transaction se95), you can reset modified
    objects to the original.
Caution: In the SPDD phase, you should never use SE95 to reset objects

for example, using SE11 - so that it is identical with the original

  • What is the cause and solution for SAP error message 0M400 - Object &1 &2 is already adjusted; resetting not possible ?

The SAP error message "0M400 Object &1 &2 is already adjusted; resetting not possible" typically occurs in the context of managing adjustments in SAP, particularly in modules related to financial accounting or controlling. This error indicates that an object (like a cost center, internal order, or other financial objects) has already been adjusted, and therefore, it cannot be reset or modified further.

    Cause:

    1. Previous Adjustments: The object in question has already undergone adjustments, which means that its status has been changed, and the system does not allow further modifications to maintain data integrity.
    2. Data Consistency: SAP enforces strict data consistency rules, and once an adjustment is made, the system locks that object to prevent further changes that could lead to inconsistencies in financial reporting or analysis.
    3. User Actions: The error may also arise from user attempts to reset or reverse an adjustment that is not allowed due to the current state of the object.

    Solution:

    1. Review Adjustment History: Check the adjustment history of the object to understand what changes have been made and why the reset is not possible.
    2. Consult Documentation: Refer to SAP documentation or help resources to understand the specific rules governing adjustments for the object type you are dealing with.
    3. Contact Support: If you believe that the adjustment should be reversible or if you need to make changes, consider reaching out to your SAP support team or a consultant who can provide guidance based on your specific configuration and business processes.
    4. Alternative Actions: If resetting is not possible, consider whether you can create a new adjustment or entry that reflects the desired changes without needing to reset the existing one.

    Related Information:

    • Transaction Codes: Familiarize yourself with relevant transaction codes that pertain to the object you are working with (e.g., KSB1 for cost centers, KO03 for internal orders).
    • Authorization: Ensure that you have the necessary authorizations to perform adjustments or resets in the system.
    • System Configuration: Sometimes, the ability to reset adjustments may depend on specific configurations in your SAP system. Check with your SAP Basis or configuration team if there are settings that can be adjusted.

    Best Practices:

    • Always back up data before making adjustments.
    • Document any changes made to financial objects for future reference.
    • Train users on the implications of adjustments to prevent unauthorized or unintended changes.

By following these guidelines, you can better understand and address the error message "0M400 Object &1 &2 is already adjusted; resetting not possible" in SAP.
