  • What is the cause and solution for SAP error message 0M203 - Unable to find any objects corresponding to the chosen filter settings ?

The SAP error message 0M203: Unable to find any objects corresponding to the chosen filter settings typically occurs when a user is trying to execute a report or transaction that requires specific filter criteria, but the system cannot find any data that matches those criteria. This can happen in various contexts, such as when using reports in SAP BW (Business Warehouse) or other SAP modules.

    Causes:

    1. Incorrect Filter Settings: The filters applied may be too restrictive, leading to no data being returned. This can include date ranges, selection criteria, or specific values that do not exist in the database.
    2. Data Not Loaded: The data that the report is trying to access may not have been loaded into the system yet. This is common in environments where data is loaded periodically.
    3. Authorization Issues: The user may not have the necessary authorizations to view the data, which can lead to the system not returning any results.
    4. Data Source Issues: The data source or InfoProvider may not be correctly configured or may be inactive.
    5. Technical Issues: There could be underlying technical issues, such as problems with the database or the SAP system itself.

    Solutions:

    1. Review Filter Settings: Check the filter criteria you have set. Try broadening the filters or removing some of them to see if data is returned.
    2. Check Data Availability: Ensure that the data you are trying to access has been loaded into the system. You can check the data load status in the relevant data source or InfoProvider.
    3. Verify Authorizations: Ensure that you have the necessary authorizations to access the data. You may need to consult with your SAP security team.
    4. Check Data Source Configuration: Verify that the data source or InfoProvider is correctly configured and active. You may need to consult with your SAP BW administrator.
    5. Consult Logs and Traces: Look at the system logs or traces for any errors or warnings that might provide more context about the issue.
    6. Contact Support: If the issue persists, consider reaching out to your SAP support team for further assistance.

    Related Information:

    • Transaction Codes: Depending on the context, you may want to check transaction codes like RSA1 (Data Warehousing Workbench) for BW, or ST22 (Dump Analysis) for error analysis.
